In September, modest deposits into the Livret A savings account
In September, the Livret A savings account saw an increase of only 210 million euros, as French savers faced back-to-school expenses and tax payments in October.
The Livret A savings account also faces competition from the Euros fund, which offers a capital guarantee. In the same month, life insurance attracted 2.5 billion euros in net inflows.
Deposits into the Livret A and the Livret de développement durable et solidaire (LDDS) for September 2024 were positive, totaling 0.21 billion euros across all networks. The total outstanding balance for these two products reached 584.4 billion euros at the end of September 2024.
In addition, deposits into the Livret d'épargne populaire (LEP) for September 2024 were also positive, totaling 0.33 billion euros across all networks. The total outstanding balance for this product reached 77.6 billion euros at the end of September 2024.
