Sustainable Finance: How Can You Give Meaning to Your Savings?
Produced in partnership with EFAMA (European Fund and Asset Management Association), the AFG’s guide, “Understanding Sustainable Finance in 9 Questions,” provides concrete answers for savers who wish to invest in responsible products and give meaning to their savings.
Although 66% of French people place importance on sustainable finance, according to a July 2023 OpinionWay poll conducted for the AMF, the complexity of regulations makes sustainable finance intimidating for many savers. “Developing savings geared toward financing transition challenges—particularly environmental ones—requires better support for savers and extensive education on what sustainable finance is,” says Philippe Setbon, president of the AFG.
As key partners in transition finance, asset managers play a crucial rolein bridging the gap between long-term wealth accumulation and the sustainable development of the economy through investments that combine financial, environmental, and social performance with good governance.
This guide builds on previous AFG initiatives, such as the educational tool developed with EFAMA in 2021, “Investing to Build Your Future,” and the guide “12 Principles for Saving and Investing,” published in 2020. “Educating savers is at the heart of the AFG’s commitments,” emphasizes Eric Pinon, honorary president of the AFG. The AFG continues its educational efforts by participating in the Banque de France’s national financial education strategy and by relaunching its “Take Control of My Savings” campaign on social media.
