Mobility Assistance for Students
A Parcoursup mobility grant of €500 has been established to assist certain prospective students who have accepted a placement outside their home school district.
The application period began in early July. Applications are submitted online through the “Mes services étudiants” online service. Supporting documents must be provided: bank account information in the applicant’s name and proof of enrollment at an institution located outside the applicant’s home school district and corresponding to the accepted choice on Parcoursup.
The application for Parcoursup mobility assistance must be submitted once the preferences have been confirmed and admission offers have been issued by the institutions and accepted by the applicants. As specified on the French government’s official website, certain conditions must be met to receive this welcome assistance: having received a high school scholarship during the previous school year; be registered on Parcoursup for the current year; have confirmed at least one choice outside your home school district; have definitively accepted an admission offer (“YES” or “YES-IF”) for a confirmed choice outside your home school district. Please note that a “mobility” button appears next to your choices, allowing you to receive the assistance. If this button does not appear, it means that with that particular choice, you are not eligible for the Parcoursup mobility assistance.
Once you have submitted your application for Parcoursup mobility assistance and your enrollment at the institution has been officially confirmed, the relevant CROUS will review your application. If your application meets the eligibility criteria for the assistance, it will be paid to you in a single lump sum at the beginning of your academic year, starting in September. The good news is that Parcoursup mobility assistance can be combined with other forms of financial aid: need-based grants, annual allowances, one-time assistance, merit-based grants, and international mobility assistance. Finally, for first-year Master’s students, a similar grant is available: the Master’s mobility grant, in the amount of 1,000 €. Of course, certain eligibility requirements must be met to receive this grant.
